Diamonds in the Community
Diamonds in the Community run a number of projects that are aimed at creating opportunities for residents in Airdrie, Coatbridge and the surrounding areas to improve their physical as well as their mental health. Below is a list of some we are currently running and are planning to do in the future.
Walk & Talk Group
Opportunity to take light physical activity whilst giving the chance to meet and speak to other people in your local area.
Walking Football/Sports
Aimed at those over 50 or looking to improve their fitness levels, although we are open to anyone who wants to participate. Currently running weekly Football sessions with other sports to follow.
Memories Groups
For anyone suffering from Dementia related illness or simply for those living in isolation. Relive your old sporting memories with others.
Football/Sports Camps
Free or ‘pay what you can’ camps for local children during school holiday periods.
Mindfulness Sessions
Improving and promoting good mental health through simple daily practices.
Boccia
A sport originally aimed at those affected by disabilities affecting motor skills, but we actively encourage anyone to join in a fun light sport with huge social and mental health benefits.
KitAid
We are the Scottish hub for the national charity KitAid, who send no longer used sportswear and equipment around the world to some of the most underprivileged areas.
